The Chain Story

Take the first chapter of this Mysterious Story and go around your Girl Scout Troop adding on to each chapter. Make sure you solve the Mystery in the end!

The Ice Cream Man

My favorite thing about summer was the arrival of the Ice Cream Man. As the days got longer and the temperature rose you could count on hearing the familiar song playing down the block, the Ice Cream Man was coming!

As I sat on our front porch that hot summer day waiting for the familiar jingle of the Ice Cream Man, I was startled at the sight that finally arrived in front of my house.  A black van pulled up with no happy song playing at all. The van had no windows except 1 small hole cut in the side and the letters I C painted sloppy on the side. I could see the drivers shadow as he climbed to the hole cut in the side of the van. He had white piercing eyes and crazy black hair sticking in every direction. All of a sudden an arm popped out of the hole with a chocolate ice cream cone melted and running down his strange looking arm… (now you and your Girl Scout Investigators have to finish the story and SOLVE the Mystery!)

Mysterious Hand Prints

Make your hand prints using bright paint. Once they are dry add unique items to your printsthat tellsomething about you! For example: add a special ring, painted nails, a fun design or picture of your pet. Cut out your prints & write your name on the back of them. Then place all the prints in a circle & start the music, all the girls should walk quickly around the circle. Once the music stops stand on the hand print nearest you. Solve the mystery by guessing who belongs to the hand print you are standing on! Take the game one step further & ask each girl the meaning of a “helping hand”. What can your Girl Scout Troop do to lend a “helping hand” in your community?
