While earning the Junior Aide Award, you will help Daisy, Brownie or bridging Brownie Girl Scouts. You will also learn more about things you like to do, grow in leadership skills, and be a role model to younger Girl Scouts.
Requirements: |
- Current Girl Scout registration.
- Step 1, Get Ready: talk with the person helping you in Girl Scouting about becoming a Junior Aide. With help, find a troop or group of younger girls you can work with.
- Step 2, Get Set: Talk to the leader of the troop/group of younger girls. Find out what you can do to help. Make a plan to help lead activities during at least three meetings.
- Step 3, Go!: Meet with the younger girls. Help with activities.
- No specific hour requirements.

As a program aide you will have the opportunity to work directly with younger girls. An adult volunteer or staff member will supervise you as you share your experience and develop your leadership skill.
Requirements: |
- Current Girl Scout registration.
- Must have completed the 6th grade.
- Receive approximately 10 hours of training and then give 25 hours of service.
- Through instruction from your council, you will specialize in an area such as science, crafts, or adapting activities for girls with disabilities, and then put your skills to work in troops, day camps or special council events.

As a senior program aide, you work directly with a troop or camp unit of younger girls under the supervision of an adult volunteer or staff member. Being a program aide is an opportunity to share your expertise with other Girl Scouts on a variety of projects and issues.
Requirements: |
- Current Girl Scout registration.
- Participate in approximately 10 hours of training and then give 25 hours of service.

A Leader-In-Training completes a group leadership course and works with a mentor leader in a Daisy, Brownie, Junior or Cadette Girl Scout troop.
Requirements: |
- Current Girl Scout registration.
- A Leader-In-Training must have completed ninth grade before beginning this project.
- A Leader-In-Training project usually spans a five to eight month period, with time divided between course sessions and 25 hours of actual work with a troop or Girl Scout group.

A Senior Girl Scout who wants to assist a Girl Scout leader with an established troop can become a troop assistant.
Requirements: |
- Current Girl Scout registration.
- Completed LIT project.
- Must have completed the tenth grade.
- Make a full year commitment to a troop.

Counselor-In-Training offers older Girl Scouts the opportunity to work with children in the out-of-doors. The training includes regular hours devoted to classes, plus actual experience in camp units where the CIT works directly with the girls under the supervision of a camp counselor or unit leader.

- Complete an outdoor group leadership course.
- Must have completed the tenth grade.
- Work directly with girls at camp under the supervision of a camp counselor or unit leader.
